The Doors of Light
To capture or to free the light in the duality that the artist is facing. The result of this fusion is life itself.
– Pierre Brisset
First showcased in 1992 in Nice’s Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, The Doors of Light (Les Portes de la Lumière) honors humanity's relentless forward momentum. The sculpture consists of 10 reinforced alloy structures that mirror the dimensions of standard doors and captivate visitors with dynamic surfaces. Drawing on symbolism from Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, the piece reminds us to embrace the journey rather than the destination. Life's true essence lies not in achieved dreams, but in the experiences that shape us into who we are – a meditation on conscious living and responsibility.

The finish on each piece is created through an intricate dance of acid and fire; engravings adorn each piece, creating both a visual feast and layers of meaning. Echoing the legend of the magical philosopher’s stone, originally believed to unlock the secrets of alchemy, each door transforms the mundane into the extraordinary.
The Doors of Light has since traveled globally as a complete set, captivating audiences through multiple exhibitions. Today, individual doors are housed among distinguished collectors and the artist's personal collection.
