The Free Women

A tribute to Camille Claudel.

The Free Women (Les Femmes Libres) series, a collection of bronze sculptures limited to an edition of eight, embodies a woman’s strength, humility, and power. Each figure holds a saw blade-shaped wheel, a symbol of life that they fiercely protect, its jagged edge representing the weight women bear and roughness of life. Their faces blend futuristic and classical elements, making them timeless beings moving through the world in their highest form.

Humor weaves through these pieces as they reimagine historic sculptures. Rodin's Walking Man or Thinker is transformed into a woman contemplating Mother Earth, seated upon the planet itself. Bourdelle's Heraklés the Archer is reborn as a powerful goddess.
